In July, I trained myself German Volume Method, an old German pre-Olympics mass-gain technique in which the trainee performs 10 supersets of 10 slow reps. For example, bench press and lat pulldown, at a snail's pace of 4020.

July goals (force ranked):

1. Gain muscle

2. Minimize fat gain

 

Results

Weight 184 -- 196 lbs (net +12)

Fat mass: 35 -- 29.5 lbs (net -5.5)

LBM: 149 -- 166.5 lbs (net +17.5)

Bodyfat: 19% -- 15% (net -4%)

 

Not really sure if this is possible, but the bottom line is that I made significant, dramatic
gains, exceeding my goal expectations.
