The climber's code:

If you're not cold, you brought too many clothes
If your not hungry, you have too much food

9 days left
Posted On 12/24/2008 14:19:32 by grampahawk
I've started tapering my workouts. Only 9 days left before I leave for Mexico to climb two of it's best- La Malinche (14,000+ ft) and the prize, Pico De Orizaba. It means "mountain of the stars". They also have an extra set of points that help bite while traversing glacial ice. I'm getting psyched about Pico De Orizaba (18,000 footer in Mexico) for January. ... Read More

Rainier training
Posted On 05/09/2008 19:51:15 by grampahawk

I used to burn 1100-1200 calories in a workout but am only doing about half tha now. So I have gained  2 lbs. I don't know if it's muscle, or fat. I certainly don't want to carry an additional few pounds of fat up the mountain.
