I've started tapering my workouts. Only 9 days left before I leave for Mexico to climb two of it's best- La Malinche (14,000+ ft) and the prize, Pico De Orizaba. It means "mountain of the stars". At 19,000 ft it's one of the highest in the western hemisphere. I've assembled a good team, but none of us has been over 15,000 ft so we don't know how well we'll all do with the altitude. It stands to reason that at least one person will not make it. Climbing

I did that 5.6 and made it.  It was a completely different route than the white one.  I had to climb over ledges.  Very cool.  I tried the route named after one of my climbing partners and only made it half-way.  It was a 5.8 on that early overhang wall I did months ago.  I had a nice fall, too.  Instead of the across-the-doorway climb at the front of the gym, I did the one in the back, and nailed it.  Today was a good day at the climbing gym....
