I'm a slow learner when it comes to getting started on weight loss. It took me a few years of trying different diets to realize that diets dont work because they're temporary. In order to lose weight, you have to combine permanent lifestyle changes to both your diet and your exercise.

Started working March 2007 to lose 100 lbs total. I have lost 50 so far July 2008. I was working out 6 days a week since December 2007 but I got a foot injury that's slowed me down quite a bit, so I'm getting to the gym 3 days a week on a good week. I need motivation again!

Proud Achievements
I've already lost 47 lbs since last year by dedicating myself to staying on track with working out. I started out working out only 2 days a week and now I do so 6 days a week.

No specific workout in general. I love having a session each week with my trainer because it's motivating to have someone there in front of you driving you to push harder because they believe in you.

Effective Warmup
The first 5 minutes on the treadmill I take it easy.
Effective Cooldown
Stretching for 5-10 minutes after any of my workouts helps ensure I don't have limiting aches and pains the following day.

Thank you, you also!! I see you want to run a marathon someday! If you are interested, I would highly recommend doing the half marathon in September. It is 13.1 miles and a great race!! :)
